Welcome to the website of Sir Vivian Fuchs. This site tells the story of his life and work, and commemorates his achievement as leader of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition on the first land crossing of the Antarctic in 1958.

Illustrated with photographs from his family's collection, this site is a unique memorial to one of history's great explorers.
